KANSAS CITY, Mo., Oct. 20, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The American Business Women's Association (ABWA) is thrilled to announce that Anita Eno, Founder and CEO of Prayers Are Answered Inc., has been named the 2027 American Business Woman of the Year, the Association's highest individual honor.
The American Business Woman of the Year is selected from ABWA's nationally recognized Top Ten Business Women of the Year program, which annually honors ten outstanding members for excellence in career achievement, education, leadership, and community involvement. One honoree is chosen to represent ABWA and working women nationwide. The 2027 honoree was recognized at ABWA's National Women's Leadership Conference in Sugar Land, Texas.
Raised by a single mother of six, Eno put herself through college and built a career as a mathematician and radar engineer before launching a multimillion-dollar medical billing company from her kitchen table, serving more than 100 physicians and creating work-from-home career opportunities for professional mothers. Today, she leads Prayers Are Answered Inc., a healthcare and core services brokerage in Madison, Alabama, that helps individuals, families, and businesses reduce healthcare and everyday living expenses without sacrificing quality or care. In 2021, she founded the Alabama Leading Ladies Chapter of ABWA to help women connect, grow professionally, and develop leadership skills.
"Anita is an inspiration to ABWA and to all women in the workplace" said Elizabeth H. Johnson, CAE, Executive Director of ABWA. "She built a business that gave working mothers a path forward, and she founded a chapter so more women could grow as leaders. That's the heart of this award, and it's why she's our 2027 American Business Woman of the Year."
"Being named the 2027 American Business Woman of the Year is one of the greatest honors and most humbling blessings of my life," said Eno. "I do not see this award simply as a recognition of what I have accomplished, but as a greater responsibility to serve, mentor, encourage, and open doors for other women. My greatest joy is not in the dreams I have achieved, but in the dreams that I can inspire in others."
Founded in 1949, ABWA empowers women in business through leadership development, education, networking, and national recognition. For more information, visit abwa.org.
